Initially this service was provided for patients diagnosed with cancer at high risk for a hereditary cancer syndromes. lt is with pleasure we announce that we may now directly refer our clients to selected sites for cancer risk assessment, genetic testing and follow up. Our comprehensive service will help you and your physician to identify if you or members of your family are at risk for harboring a genetic mutation associated with cancer syndromes as well as help you manage your patients in a comprehensive and multidisciplinary fashion if they are found to carry a mutation or to carry a high risk of cancer independent of a genetic mutation.

How to Know if Genetic Risk Testing is Right for You

If you or a member of your family has a personal or family history of:

  • Early age onset of a common cancer; 
  • Multiple family members with cancer,
  • Multiple cancers in the same individual,
  • Rare cancers such as pheochromocytoma.
  • Hereditary breast/Ovary Syndrome [HBOC]

A personal or family history of:

  • Early age onset  <40 for breast and <50 for ovarian cancers
  • Triple negative or medulary histology
  • Bilateral breast cancer
  • More than two first degree relative with breast of ovary cancer
  • Male breast cancer at any age

you receive high quality cancer risk assessment and individualized treatment planning in a single location. Through an innovative program, staff members of the genetic team have undergone intensive training in genetic risk assessment. All members of the genetic team participate in multidisciplinary conferences on a weekly basis to make sure optimal care is offered continually. All patients who are referred receive a comprehensive pre-test interview and are provided with a written summary of recommendations, as well as a post-test individualized treatment plan to assist you in the management of your health.
